THE BAND

Chained Saint is a South Florida metal band whose story is as much about how young they are as it is about how quickly they are progressing.

Featuring Sean Sterling on vocals, 19-year-old guitarist Ethan Kahn, Sebastian De Avila on bass, and Cameron Cottrell on drums, the band first made its mark with the 2024 debut album Blindside — a record Chained Saint created when its members were just 16 and 17 years old.

Produced by Alice in Chains vocalist and guitarist William DuVall, Blindside was recorded at West End Sound, the studio owned by Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher, using an approach almost unheard of for a band of their generation: the album was recorded directly to analog tape, with no computers used in the recording process. The result captured the rawness, urgency, and musicianship of four teenagers whose influences may have been rooted in classic thrash and heavy metal, but whose ambition was always to push that foundation forward.

Recognition came quickly.

Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford publicly gave the band a shoutout, while Chained Saint tracks “Animosity,” “Free Reign,” and “1000 Tons” have all earned rotation on SiriusXM Liquid Metal. “1000 Tons” went on to reach #1 on the Metal Contraband chart, while the band’s music has also been featured through WWE and UFC.

But Chained Saint’s development has been built as much on the road as it has been in the studio.

In the summer of 2025, the band piled into a van and logged more than 5,000 miles across the United States, playing small rooms and learning the realities of touring one city and one audience at a time. That grassroots run became a formative part of the band’s development, building the discipline and live experience that would soon translate to significantly larger stages.

Along the way, Chained Saint also began building history in rooms that helped shape rock and metal, including three performances at the iconic Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles. The band went on to appear at major U.S. events and festivals including Welcome To Rockville, Rocklahoma, Vans Warped Tour, Sick New World, and Blood 4 Blood, steadily expanding its live résumé before taking the next major leap.

In the summer of 2026, that leap became international.

Chained Saint embarked on a month-long European and UK run alongside Slaughter To Prevail, crossing the continent and performing at major heavy-music festivals including Leyendas del Rock in Spain, Bloodstock Open Air in the UK, Alcatraz in Belgium, and Dynamo Metalfest in the Netherlands.

For a band whose members are still teenagers and barely out of their teens, the tour represented a dramatic change in scale — new countries, much larger audiences, festival stages, and the opportunity to perform alongside some of the most established names in heavy music.

During the run, Ethan Kahn joined Slaughter To Prevail onstage, a standout moment that reflected the relationship built between the bands during the tour. At Leyendas del Rock, Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser wore a Chained Saint shirt during Sepultura’s headline performance, another unexpected moment of recognition from one of the genre’s most respected musicians.

Now Chained Saint is turning its attention to the next chapter.

On August 28, 2026, the band released “Snakeskin,” the first single from its new EP Rise to Fall. “Punk” followed September 18, before “Uncrowned” and the complete Rise to Fall EP arrived on October 9.

Where Blindside introduced a group of teenagers working with one of rock’s most respected producers, Rise to Fall represents another level of creative ownership. The EP was self-produced by Chained Saint and co-produced with Rob Roy at Power Station Studios, with the band taking a significantly greater role in shaping the music from writing through production.

The result is heavier, sharper, and more evolved while retaining the immediacy and aggression that first defined Chained Saint.

What makes the trajectory remarkable is how quickly it has happened.

Chained Saint recorded its debut album at 16 and 17 years old. They followed it by driving thousands of miles in a van to play small American rooms, including multiple appearances at the legendary Whisky a Go Go. They progressed to major U.S. festivals, SiriusXM Liquid Metal rotation, a #1 metal radio single, WWE and UFC exposure, and then a month touring Europe and the UK alongside Slaughter To Prevail. Ethan Kahn is still only 19.

And the next phase is already underway.

With new music arriving throughout the fall and additional major live appearances ahead, including Louder Than Life and Headbangers Boat, Chained Saint is moving beyond the label of a promising young band.

They are building the catalog, live history, audience, and creative identity to become one of the defining new voices of the next generation of heavy music.
